Winter Olympic Trials Brings Competition to Utah

Winter has arrived! A few early December snow storms brought plenty of snow to Park City for the early season skiers. After a beautiful Christmas holiday week made up of back to back bluebird ski days, we are ready for some more snow!  Town is bustling with visitors shopping, enjoying award winning restaurants, and celebrating the season with family and friends.

There are so many exciting events in Park City and Salt Lake City this winter. Utah is hosting multiple events where Olympic hopefuls are trying to earn spots on the US Olympic team for the upcoming Olympics in Sochi. This weekend, December 27-29, athletes are competing in Nordic Combine and Ski Jumping trials at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City and at the Kearns Oval, speed skaters are competing in the US Olympic speed skating trials. It is an exciting time for the athletes and Utah locals as well as guests and visitors have an amazing opportunity to view these athletes prior to the Olympic events.  Here is a full list of events this winter:

Jan 2-8 U.S. Cross Country Ski Championships – Soldier Hollow

Jan 8 Freestyle Press Conference (Olympic Uniform Unveiling) – Deer Valley Resort

Jan 9-11 Visa FIS Freestyle International World Cup – Deer Valley Resort

Jan 17-18 Visa U.S. Freeskiing Grand Prix presented by The North Face – Park City Mountain Resort

Jan 18 U.S. Olympic Freeskiiing Team Announcement – Park City Mountain Resort

Jan 25 – Olympic Aerials Team Announcement – Deer Valley Resort
