Fall in Park City

Published on October 31, 2013 by Judy

Park City is most known for being the perfect winter haven, with having just about every winter activity available.  Park City is also a great destination for a long weekend in the fall.

The leaves start changing quite early as it gets chilly at night, and the mountains are splashed with red, orange and yellow for months. This leads to a perfect opportunity for scenic fall hikes and bike rides.  There are trails that are easily accessible throughout the town and resorts.  Trail maps are available at sporting goods stores.  Have a relaxing day fishing at one of the many nearby rivers with the beautiful Uintah and Wasatch mountains in the background.   The temperature is ideal for outdoor activities.

If you’re not so much into outdoor activities, there are photography and art classes available that focus on the beautiful fall foliage.  It’s also a great time to walk down Main Street, as it’s not nearly as crowded as the summer and winter.   Park City also offers several beautiful award winning day spas where you can treat yourself to a well-deserved relaxing day.

In the evening, experience some of the award winning restaurants Park City has to offer.  Main Street offers everything from Asian fusion to Southwestern to gourmet European restaurants. Park City restaurants are frequently featured in national cooking Blogs and magazines, and is known for having the best dining in the state of Utah. After dinner, check out the vibrant nightlife.  There are bars that are low key and great for a quiet conversation over a drink, or there are nightclubs with live music and dancing.

No matter what you wish to do, fall in Park City is truly one of a kind; don’t miss this special time of year.
